Canstruction Vancouver has wrapped up for 2013 with an incredible 97,000 cans of food donated to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. 22 unbelievable sculptures were made entirely of canned food and placed on public display as Vancouver’s most creative and socially conscious Art Exhibit. Our amazing venues; The Pacific Center Rotunda, Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver and the Pendulum Art Gallery played host to over 76,000 unique visitors over a 10 day opening. Teams of Graphic Designers, Engineers, Architects, Landscape Architects, Students and solid businesses gave Vancouver their own Top-CAN Chef competition.
Did you know that we have rasied over 1.15 million cans of food in the last 10 years? 100% of the cans raised goes to fill the shelves of the Greater Vancouver Foodbank to sustain our friends and neighbors who need our assistance. One of the greatest side effects of our sculptures is that the best can (we call it a pixel) is typically either Tuna, Salmon or Canned Ham for the best detail. This is the single largest donation of protien the food bank gets in a year.
